It was the thrill of a lifetime to have known Mike Dunbar and I will never forget the day I walked into the Glendale Retirement Home in 1978
to write an insurance policy on the building and grounds.
Mike was the most siren soft spoken and understanding person I ever met and, for whatever reason, we hit it off the minute we made eye contact.
I have thought about our meeting so many times over the years. I had no idea in 1978 that I would ever become a writer and, I only wish now, that
I had been better equipped during our visits.
I do know that we were drawn to each other by some force that I will never understand and that every person we meet is by no accident.
This book is based on the story of one man’s life. Along the way he was touched by many amazing historical figures, some of them his closet friends,
as was the case, with those known as the Wild Bunch. It is also a story of his lifelong love and friendship of two women and how they both affected his life.
